German clothes are on a roll and Saint Noir is probably one of their best standard bearer

German clothes are on a roll and Saint Noir is probably one of their best standard bearer. Based on a project created in 2010, Saint Noir is a new label launched in Berlin by two friends : Matt and Tom. Highly passionate about design, music, art and fashion, the two of them naturally pictured their first t-shirt collection. They made a point of offering original and handmade products which make them unique and so special. Their first three t-shirts look awesome but I truly love the « Music or die » one. It is 100% made by hand – with supporting evidence on YouTube – and easy to match with a black cardigan. Now all you’ve got to do is give ground to the rockstar in you.

Rovio is holding on a huge brand in Angry Birds

Rovio is holding on a huge brand in Angry Birds. According to TechCrunch, the Finland-based company was able to sell 1 Million Angry Birds shirts and 1 Million plush toys every month.
Andrew Stalbow, Rovio’s North American GM, disclosed some details on the growth of Angry Birds merchandise. They launched plush toys last December 2010, just in time for the holidays, and now they enjoy a healthy sale of their goods as they sell a million each month. Also, their brand of t-shirts are also snapped up by people (1 million per month as well).
Personally, my cousin owns a number of plush toys while I was lucky enough to be given a t-shirt by my girlfriend on our anniversary. Also, when I go to the malls every now and then, I see a lot of people wearing an Angry Birds inspired t-shirt.

She was found dead Labor Day afternoon by a passing boater

The newborn girl was dumped in the Mississippi River on or just before Labor Day, sealed in a canvas bag with the name of a Mexican tourist town stitched on the side.
Inside, she was wrapped in a green T-shirt, and tied in two plastic garbage bags. Two small angel figurines lay next to her.
A charm bracelet - with an eye motif - and two more, larger angel figurines were placed in the canvas bag, too.
Then someone - presumably her mother - put the 7-pound girl in the river near Winona. She was found dead Labor Day afternoon by a passing boater.
"We've named her Angel," said Winona County Sheriff Steve Brand. "We want to give Angel a last name."
The new details about the fourth newborn to be pulled dead from the Mississippi River in southeast Minnesota since 1999 were released today at a press conference behind the courthouse in downtown Winona.
Investigators from the county and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have tracked down about 25 leads in the case, but none have panned out. That's why Brand and BCA Senior Special Agent Drew Evans made a public plea for the mother to come forward. They hoped that the items found in the bag with Angel would help someone identify the mother.
Evans said investigators want to find the mother, who they believe gave birth alone without medical attention, because she likely needs physical and mental help.

JCPenney coward down to the public and pulled the shirt from their website

A few weeks ago, I saw that JCPenney was getting attacked online for a t-shirt they were selling for girls that said “I’m too pretty to do homework so my brother has to do it for me”.
JCPenney coward down to the public and pulled the shirt from their website. Now get ready for the next one.
Forever 21 has a t-shirt that says  “allergic to algebra.” People are up in arms on these t-shirts because they say it sends the wrong message to girls, it’s insulting to their intelligence and bad for their self-esteem.
Maybe I’ll be blasted here, but I thought the shirts were kinda funny. I guess my parents did an awful job in raising me to believe that a t-shirt DOES NOT define me. My parents taught me to have a sense of humor and to try not to let the “little things” in life get me down.
Back in the 70′s when I was a kid,  I had a t-shirt that said “Hot to Trot”. Wow, I didn’t realize that that little t-shirt  ruined my life.  Remember the t-shirt that said “I’m with Stupid” and had an arrow pointing to the right or left? How many lives did that one ruin? If you don’t like the t-shirts than don’t buy them, simple enough!  Personally, I think there are bigger things to worry about in the world.
I guess my question here is: Are these t-shirts really that devastating and horrible? Or, as a society have we just totally lost our sense of humor? Oh and by the way, yes…I am allergic to algebra.

Controversial tween T-shirts sure are everywhere these days

Controversial tween T-shirts sure are everywhere these days.
The other week, JC Penney was heavily criticized for selling apparel that read “I'm too pretty to do homework, so my brother does it for me.” Now another failed attempt at cutesiness has the Internet up in commenting-arms: Forever 21 is featuring a shirt emblazoned with “Allergic to algebra” (at $12.80, it’s still no bargain). It doesn’t stop there, either. Other tops showcase such slogans as “I love school – not” and “Skool Sucks.”
As predicted, shoppers and parents are none too pleased. One consumer even resorted to posting a response — via a Post-it-Note — on the collection.  The note reads “SMART girls are cool. Don’t buy this top.” And change.org just started a petition asking Forever21 to discontinue selling clothing with sexist messages. “Forever 21's ‘Allergic to Algebra’ shirt is yet another sexist message aimed at young women telling them that math is uncool — while bragging about being bad at math is cool,” the petition reads. “Would these retailers ever consider selling ‘I Can't Do Long Division!’ shirts for boys or men?”

Wouldn’t it be nice if a positive back-to-school message made its way into young girls’ wardrobes

The folks at Forever 21 must’ve been on vacation a couple of weeks ago when the entire world went ballistic over a JCPenney t-shirt sporting the message,”I’m too pretty to do homework so my brother has to do it for me.” Now Forever 21 has pulled an offensive girls t-shirt from its shelves that read, “Allergic to Algebra.” Equally vomitous. Once again, criticism is coming from all sides, letting the company know that folks won’t stand for the message that girls aren’t or shouldn’t strive to be smart.
Better than that, maybe sustained anger over these sorts of messages will prompt companies to not only stop sending out these sorts of sexist messages, but perhaps even infuse a few positive messages into their wares. Gasp and double gasp. Wouldn’t it be nice if a positive back-to-school message made its way into young girls’ wardrobes?
